Young Artists To Be Honored May 2

Twenty area school children are winners of an annual coloring contest. Their drawings of their favorite fruits and vegetables were selected by Comprehensive Therapy Center, sponsor of the annual contest. The agency is a local non-profit that provides special education services to children from Kindergarten through middle school in West Michigan public schools.

The young honorees and their parents will be recognized at a “Read to Me Tea” to be held at the Women’s City club, 254 E. Fulton, Grand Rapids, on Monday, May 2 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Parents, local celebrities and school principals will read to the children and pose for photos with the honorees and their families.

“This annual coloring contest has been a wonderful way to recognize the creativity of the children we work with,” says Terese Smith, Associate Director. “This year we had over 300 submissions, so these children earned this recognition.”

The springtime contest and Read to Me Tea coincides with National Social Work Month and Occupational Therapy Month in April and Better Speech and Hearing Month in May.
