Therapy for Children – Fun Classes!
Classes for Teachers and Parents, too!

Our agency is dedicated to helping children succeed.  Our therapists can supplement therapy received in school for faster progress. We also help children who do not receive special education services.

  Speech-Language and Occupational Therapy
Individual sessions are available for your child.
Cost: $50 per 30 minute session.

Sensory Integration Explanation
Many children have difficulty attending to task and learning new skills because they operate at high levels of arousal or anxiety. This causes them to overreact to the stimulation around them. The brain receives so much information from the senses that it is difficult for children to filter what is needed for success.

Your child may have sensory issues if he/she is:

  • Hyper-sensitive to touch, noise or lights

  • Unable to sit still, constantly falling off chairs or spilling things

  • Misunderstanding/disregarding personal space

  • Avoiding or craving pushing, wrestling, swinging rocking, jumping, spinning

  • Not understanding directions, ever

  • Craving solitude/silence often seen by hidng under tables or in corners.

OT also develops core strength, gross and fine motor skills (including handwriting), daily living skills like dressing, learning, and playing well with others.

Parents Can Learn to Brush Their Child
Parents of children on the Autism Disorder Spectrum may be familiar with the Wilbarger Protocol, where therapists use brushing and joint compression as a calming strategy.  Children with sensory issues and other disabilities experience significant improvements in concentration and cooperation using this technique.
