If you follow our Facebook page, you might know that we presented at and sponsored the Kent Intermediate School District‘s assistive technology conference AssisTechKnow. It was a terrific conference! Lori Pitts and Rhonda Hines, ably assisted by Michelle St. Aubin and Brie Augustine, coordinated a multi-faceted demonstration of how we use technology at Therapy and Fun.
We talked about how we used technology to help nonverbal children participate in activities they traditionally would be excluded from: in this case, narrating a play. This summer, our young clients created a play from start to finish: conceptualizing it, writing the script, creating the backdrops and props, and executing it.
