In 2005, Read to Me Tea was launched as a celebration for our clients, but more importantly, it was a place for families and caregivers to connect with legislators and community leaders in an environment they may not have access to normally.
Throughout the first part of the year, our clients both in the clinic and in schools create artwork that is then displayed during the event. Artists are then able to share their art with their families and other attendees.
Read to Me Tea is an important advocacy event for our families. Caregivers can talk to, ask questions, and advocate for their families and children in a relaxed and safe environment.
Did you know that March is Social Worker Month, April is Occupational Therapy Month, and May is Better Hearing and Speech Month?
To celebrate, CTC (which provides special education services to West Michigan schools) hosts an art contest that starts in February and ends with an event in May. Our clients don’t get many opportunities to be celebrated for their achievements; therefore, this event is an important opportunity for us to recognize their hard work and creativity.
We’re so excited to hold our 18th annual Read To Me Tea celebration this year at The Sweet House Foundation in Grand Rapids, MI on May 13th, 2024! We’re so excited to see you again this year, to applaud how much our clients’ skills and talents have grown since our last event.
