Established in 1982, Comprehensive Therapy Center’s mission is to meet the therapeutic and educational needs of adults and children with disabilities who are at-risk or disadvantaged, through skill building, academic enhancement and social emotional support. We help adults keep or increase their independence. We help children to walk, talk, learn and play.

  • Wages & Hours: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
  • $26+/hr (Limited License or Creative Arts only)
  • $27+/hr (Licensed)

Differentials:

  • +$2/hr School Social Work Certification
  • +$1/hr Play Therapy, DIR Floortime

Schedule: Flexible Schedule; Routine Office Hours Expected

Reports to: Social Emotional Support Lead

Coordinates with: Director Team, School Building Administrators, School Teachers, Special Education Team, CTC Staff, Parents of School-Aged Children

School Social Worker — Job Summary

  • Provides school social work services in accordance with state laws, Michigan Department of Education requirements, and professional standards across one or more assigned settings, including contracted school districts and CTC’s programs.
  • Delivers assessment, intervention, and consultation that address barriers to access, participation, attendance, behavior, and learning.
  • Supports students and caregivers in navigating systems, developing skills, and accessing resources.
  • Collaborates with caregivers, educators, and interdisciplinary teams to support consistent strategies across environments.
  • Maintains competence through continuing education and development.
  • Completes documentation on time and meets all regulatory, payer, and compliance requirements while upholding CTC’s mission.
  • Individuals practicing under a Limited License (LLMSW, LLPC, LLMFT) fulfill the responsibilities above under required clinical supervision and in accordance with all applicable state supervision and practice standards.

Job Functions

1. Assessment

a. Determine evaluation needs based on appropriate information (referral, program

requirements, observed concerns, etc.)

b. Conduct assessments using appropriate tools and procedures.

c. Gather relevant background, including medical history.

d. Analyze findings and develop clear conclusions, recommendations, and goals.

e. Re-evaluate client status and update plans as needed.

2. Intervention

a. Provide evidence-based intervention aligned with goals and client needs.

b. Collect accurate data, including qualitative and quantitative information.

c. Deliver age-, culture- and disability-appropriate treatment with clear expectations and feedback.

d. Adapt session plans to meet client needs.

3. Documentation & Reporting

a. Complete documentation and reports accurately and on schedule.

b. Use clear, reader-friendly language.

c. Maintain required paperwork for assessments, plans, progress, and discharge.

d. Submit and route documents according to IEP/MET systems, program and/or agency requirements.

4. Communication & Collaboration

a. Communicate regularly with caregivers, staff, and multidisciplinary team members.

b. Provide education about client needs, therapeutic strategies, and progress.

c. Participate in meetings, case discussions, and planning processes, as appropriate.

d. Communicate changes in services or scheduling to all relevant parties.

5. Other Responsibilities:

a. Rules & Regulations: Follow CTC policies and all regulatory requirements.

Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time. Take accountability for quality.

b. Time & Data Management: Maintain accurate availability. Complete

documentation correctly and promptly. Prioritize and manage workload effectively.

c. Cultural Awareness & Sensitivity: Support a respectful, inclusive environment.
