This week we had a wonderfully successful fundraiser at The Mitten Brewing Company and we’d like to thank them, as well as all of you who attended, for such a great event!
Here is a great interview with part-owners Shannon and Chris Andrus about The Mitten’s commitment to helping local charities.
For the whole month of July, the folks at this fantastic local pizza and beer joint have donated a portion of their proceeds to CTC, and have been collecting donations from customers. They asked for $1 to post a little ‘therapy balls’ on their donations wall, and for a $5 donation, they were giving out sets of notecards made by our students in the pet shop coloring contest we held this spring.
This last Monday was the real fundraising event, where 50% of all food sales from lunch and dinner were donated, and we held a 50/50 raffle along with a Pick-a-Prize that added even more fun ways to give. It was a great time and so many wonderful folks joined us to enjoy delicious pizza!

We displayed information about our services for those who wanted to learn more. Here is Alexander manning the booth.
A big congratulations and thank you to the winners of our prizes:
Becca Beebe, speech-language pathology graduate student at Grand Valley State University, won The Mitten Brewing Company package.
Brie Augustine, speech-language pathology graduate student at Grand Valley State University, won both the Detroit Tigers tickets and the Hearts 4 the Arts class.
Jesse Moran, owner of a new dog, won the in-home dog training. She also happens to be a GVSU graduate. She is the Project Coordinator at brightly, a web development company.
And last, but definitely not least, Anthony McWhorter won the 50/50 raffle.  He is the first person in the history of the agency to share his winnings back with us.  He is Army Reserve and works for the Spectrum Health Medical Group. Thank you so much for helping support CTC, Anthony, and all of our lucky winners!
Big hugs and a huge thank you once again to Shannon Andrus at The Mitten and every one of you for coming out to eat, drink, and be giving!
